alérie is a criminal defence lawyer and associate at Edelson Foord Law, where her practice focuses exclusively on criminal and regulatory offences.
Valérie was called to the Bar of Ontario in June 2022. She joined the firm (then Edelson Law Barristers) in July 2021 as an articling student after receiving her J.D. (Cum Laude) from the French Common Law Program of the University of Ottawa in 2021. Prior to attending law school, she completed an Honours B.Soc.Sc. in Political Science with a minor in Criminology (Magna Cum Laude) in 2018, also at the University of Ottawa.
Valérie is passionate and strives to give clients the best legal representation possible. Through her client-focused approach, she works tirelessly to secure favorable outcomes, whether that be by having no criminal charges laid, having the charges withdrawn or reduced, or taking the matter to trial.
During her time with the firm, Valérie has assisted other lawyers with a wide variety of criminal matters, including impaired driving, sexual assault, and homicide. As a law student, she has also represented clients charged with summary conviction and provincial offences before the Ontario Court of Justice.
Valérie is fluent in English and French.
