atthew Takamatsu is a criminal defence lawyer and associate at Edelson Foord Law.
Matthew completed his articles at Edelson Foord Law where he assisted on a wide range of matters, including impaired driving, sexual assault, murder, and drug projects cases.
He obtained his J.D from the University of Ottawa’s English Common Law Program. Throughout his time in law school, Matthew worked for the Department of Justice’s Criminal Conviction Review Group (soon to be the Miscarriages of Justice Review Commission) alongside a team of lawyers reviewing cases were a wrongful conviction or miscarriage of justice was alleged. Prior to that, he attended the University of Guelph and received his Bachelor of Arts Honours degree, majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Policy.
