Justice W. Vincent Clifford
Regional Senior Justice to the Ontario Court of Justice
he Honourable Justice W. Vincent Clifford, now a judge of the Ontario Court of Justice, was one of the founding partners of the firm. He practiced criminal law from 1991 until his appointment to the bench in 2017.
Justice W. Vincent Clifford was admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1991. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree (with Honours) from Saint Mary’s University. He thereafter attended Dalhousie Law School, where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree. He also completed graduate studies at Osgoode Hall Law School, at York University, where he specialized in criminal law and obtained his Masters in Law Degree.
In 2008, Justice Clifford was designated by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law.
Justice Clifford acted as Associate Commission Counsel to the Honourable Roger Salhany, Q.C. in the Taman Inquiry into the Investigation and Prosecution of Derek Harvey-Zenk held in Manitoba in 2008. Throughout his lengthy career as a defence lawyer, Justice Clifford served as counsel in many high profile and complex criminal cases; since 1997, he served as counsel in over 18 major homicide cases in the Ottawa area.
