Brandon Crawford

randon Crawford is a criminal defence lawyer and Partner at Edelson Foord Law. Prior to this he was a Partner at Foord & Crawford.
Brandon regularly appears before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. He diligently represents clients, both youth and adult, charged with all offences in Ottawa and across Ontario. He additionally represents clients facing regulatory offences and those appearing before professional disciplinary committees. Brandon brings diverse experience, an innovative approach and a tireless work ethic to each case to consistently achieve excellent results for his clients including acquittals, exclusion of evidence and very favourable resolutions.
At both trial and on appeal, Brandon excels in cases of complex litigation. He has successfully crafted and/or presented arguments challenging the constitutionality of laws passed by the government as well as complicated search and seizure issues before all levels of court in Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Brandon attended Michigan State University College of Law and University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, earning two Juris Doctor Degrees. While in law school, he was the recipient of several academic awards, which included receiving recognition as the highest achieving student, making the Dean’s List multiple times, graduating with distinction, and receiving a merit scholarship in each year of attendance. Upon returning to Canada, Brandon worked on Parliament Hill as a policy advisor for an Honourable Senator.
Due to his experience and reputation, Brandon’s insight and opinion regarding developments in the law are cited in publications for other lawyers. Brandon also teaches Trial Advocacy at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. He is currently a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa and the Criminal Lawyers’ Association.
